There’s No Place Like Home
There truly is no place like home, right? It’s where our loved ones live. It’s where we display the things we love. It’s where we put our most treasured possessions and ideas.
Join me in a celebration… and ode if you will… to our homes. We will be making a 9x15 inch wall hanging collage and filling it with reminders of all the things that we love about our homes. First, you will create the base of your home – a lovely wood house ready to be decoupaged and painted by you. Then, just like your real home, you will add your personal touch to each 2x2 inch “room.”
Start your search now. What are the special things in your house that make it feel like home? What special touches have you added to make it your own? Be sure to bring along any items that you think will add to your collage and make it the special reminder of home that it is meant to be.
Items to Bring: - Foam brushes – for decoupage and paint
- Favorite color of paint (there will be some available if you don’t want to bring paint)
- Small photos to be trimmed – main subject in the photos should not be larger than 1.5x1.5 inches
- Anything that you think will make your home special – buttons, ribbons, jewels, lace (there will be some available in the class)
A Southern California native, I currently lives in Corona with my husband, two teenage sons, two dogs and three cats. I have been into art and photography for over 15 years. In 1999, on a vacation in Seattle with my family, I stumbled into a scrapbook store and made my first official scrapbooking purchases. I have never looked back.
Although I would not say that scrapbooking is my only art form, I would definitely say that it was the starting point for an incredible art journey that I am still on today. I have dabbled in everything from crocheting, knitting and needlepoint to drawing, painting and mixed media art. I enjoy it all and am constantly looking for ways to incorporate all the things that I love in my projects.
Living in a house full of men can be such a challenge. I am constantly looking for ways to “get together with the girls.” I absolutely love to indulge in art weekend getaways. I also love to share my work and ideas on my blog
