Diana Hollingsworth Gessler is an author, illustrator, and fine artist working in oils and watercolors. Her paintings have been represented for the past seventeen years by Shaw Gallery in Naples, Florida. Having created personal illustrated travel journals over 30 years, Diana contacted Algonquin Books in New York. They were intrigued by the illustrated travel concept and agreed to publish a series of travel books in Diana’s signature style of hand-lettered, informative, colorful, and charming travel books as seen through the eyes of an inquisitive artist. The travel series includes; Very California, Very Charleston, Very New Orleans, and Very Washington DC. A fifth book, The Sampoerna Legacy was a privately commissioned work documenting an Indonesian family’s 100-year-old business and family history all in watercolors. Currently, Diana is the travel writer/illustrator for Southern Lady magazine featuring watercolor illustrations of two-day getaways. This summer, she will also be teaching “The Art of Illustrated Travel Journaling” in the Dordogne region of France. www.dianagessler.com email:
