mini workshop :

"inspiration journal - your visual diary"

everyone always tell me that they want to keep an inspiration journal, but they just don't know where to start. excuses no more! each student will receive their very own blank handmade inspiration journal and will be held at gunpoint to begin creating on the blank pages inside...(i know it's the south, but really people, i'm just being dramatic). in this workshop i will guide you on some basic techniques to exploring your creative gifts by applying, experiment and taking creative leaps of faith. let your inspiration journal become your visual diary documenting your growth and sensibilities as an artist. (NOTE: this is not the exact journal you will receive, just a visual sample)

As the author of the innovative book series, Yes, It's a Scrapbook! I am a craft and paper-product junkie. I could and often do spend hours walking the aisles of my local office supply, fabric, craft and hardware store just gathering items and ideas on how to turn everything into a scrapbook. I took to scrapbooking as an extension of my paper product and photography addiction in 2000 when I walked into my local craft store in search of a hobby and walked out of the store excitedly clutching my new packs of brightly colored cardstock, decorative scissors, and a glue stick.

As a Craft-Media artist, I enjoy experimenting, blending and transforming both traditional and unexpected items into meaningful pieces of self-expression. A former elementary school teacher, I have synthesized my first love of teaching with my passion for craft and enjoy traveling across the globe teaching my workshops at scrapbook stores and events, writing books, gathering inspiration, designing, and creating art.

Originally from the Jersey shore, I now live in North Carolina, with my incredibly supportive husband Bill and our three children, McKenna, Payton & Cole.
