I have been crafting in one media or another for most of my life.  My first crafting memory is being snowbound as a child of six or so.  We needed new ornaments for our Christmas tree so my mother and I made snow people from cotton balls, crepe paper and nail polish!  Very amateurish by today's standards, but to me they were gorgeous and I was hooked!

I grew up on the Jersey shore, went to college in Ohio, and lived my entire married life in Upstate New York.  In New York, I taught school for many years ... kindergarten and third grade!  Loved that as we had time for crafting and sharing the love of art with the little sponges that are children's minds. I eventually gave up teaching after a move to another town. Following my love of crafting and playing with paints, brushes, florals, beads, (yes, even pom poms!),  I opened a craft supplies shop and taught classes there for 18 years. After being widowed, I moved to Florida to be with my married son and his family (THREE grands!  yay!) and my daughter.

I mostly consider myself a tole painter these days and sell my pieces at several local craft shows each year. However, for the past several years, I have been creating with paper by scrapbooking, stamping, and card making. My teaching background led me to seek an opportunity to share my love of crafting and I found a wonderful outlet for that at The Scrapbook Shoppe in Tampa.  The teaching experience allows me to share what I love and, hopefully, engender the same love of art within the students.
