mosaic artist
Dara Troshane (aka Dvora) is a well-known mixed-media artist. Owner of Dvora’s Art Studio - a walk-in studio offering almost everything creative -and Peace Love Create Art Studios, Dara is known for her love of incorporating inspiring words and sayings into her brightly colored artwork. Through her signature bull’s-eye mosaics with inspired words under glass she has become a highly sought-after artist for workshops, community projects, and public and private commissions.
Coming from a family of artists, Dara has been creating her entire life. As a little girl she remembers sitting at the coffee table as her mom taught her how to draw. Little did she know the seeds that were being planted would one day lead her to follow her passion for art and open a studio of her own.
Dara is sharing her love for art with others by teaching both children and adults in all different art mediums. Her workshops and classes are offered in a supportive environment full of creativity and inspiration. Paint, glass, wood, paper, clay, markers, words and embellishments fill her studios’ shelves at all times as well as happiness and creative energy… and really great music.
Six years ago Dara combined her lifelong love for art with her drive to do good when she decided to sit on the founding board as the Art Director of a not-for-profit benefitting children’s hospitals. She has custom designed and created children’s art galleries, where sick children can display their artwork, for many New York hospitals including Schneider’s, North Shore- LIJ, Good Samaritan’s and NYU Medical Center. Her current large-scale installation-in-progress for the foundation is a 4 x 10ft Mosaic sign for Schneider’s Children’s Hospital.
Dara lives in Port Washington, New York. She enjoys traveling, cooking, reading, photography, dancing and spending time with her dogs Ellie and Lola.
workshop : "INSPIRED CIRCLE MOSAIC"

In this class we will explore different mediums in creating a one of a kind mosaic piece of art. Our workshop will start with learning to paint my signature blended circles in whatever colors you desire. After that we will embellish our circles with inspiring words and designs. Our words can be from magazines, old books or dictionaries, stickers or we may even choose to doodle the words ourselves which I always love. You will then incorporate your artistic individuality by adding different doodles, journaling and/or rubber stamps. We will then cover our designs with beautiful clear, colored and iridescent handmade glass. You will want to cover everything with this gorgeous glass! I'm so excited to meet everyone and create together!
students need to bring:
jar or cup for water scissor mechanical pencil words from magazines, stickers, printed paper or handwritten doodles (you may want to doodle in class) staz-on black or brown some of your favorite rubber stamps (designs and/or words) scraps of some of your favorite papers baby wipes
