Journey with me as we explore color and texture as we delve into 3 days of raw, primitive painting.
We will channel our inner 7 year old and enjoy the process of painting rather than the outcome. Thinking is not allowed as we glue bits of collage and finger paint with neon bursts. I love what Julia Cameron says "Art is not thinking something up. Its about getting something down." We will work on several pieces at the same time, allowing us to stretch and not get attached to our work.
I'm so thrilled to spend this time with you as will allow the process to evolve and grow. I will give you writing prompts to explore so that we can add those bits and phrases into our work. Working from the subconscious, the two mingle and marry into one piece that tells your own story.
The First night we will be making our Journals and prepping our wood board. We will be working with painting our own papers to add for collage material through using the gelli plate and mark making/symbol work with a variety of materials. Mindy will demo how to paint a primitive style face and then take them further later with how to use color to mold the face. We will be collaging, lettering, painting and building up layers working on several surfaces at a time (our journal pages and board) to create emotion filled with color and texture.

Half-day, full-day, multi-day workshops, and special events are scheduled throughout the year. Once you purchase a workshop you will be enrolled.
If you would like to enroll in a workshop that has been sold out, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and you will be put on a waiting list.
Due to limited class size, purchased spots for all workshops are transferable but payment is non-refundable.
What this means: If you buy a class spot and are unable to attend, and if there is a waiting list of students that has formed, we will put you in contact with the first person on the list to whom you can offer your class spot. If the person on the list accepts, then that person will need to pay you for your spot and once that transaction is complete and both parties are satisfied, we will transfer your spot to the other person. If you are unable to attend and there is no waiting list, we will unfortunately be unable to provide refunds.
