StencilGirl Tool Belt

Stencils are not only for adding a decorative touch to a wall or scrapbook page-they are useful mixed-media tools that have a multitude of applications! StencilGirl founder Mary Beth Shaw and StencilGirl Designer Pam Carriker, will show you tons of ways to use stencils in your mixed-media art. From 'sketching' faces, to applying the principals of good composition to a design, to creating texture with dry embossing or 'real' texture, even developing an understanding of basic color theory using media other than just paint; stencils are tools that no artist should be without.

Join us for two days of intense mixed-media stencil application as we explore a wide variety of techniques, each documented on 4x6 postcard sized watercolor paper. Pam and Mary Beth will share Color & Medium usage tips from both Golden & Matisse product lines. The watercolor pages will all be combined into a useful 'Inspiration ring' for future reference. And finally, we will spend the last part of class applying different combinations into a handmade art journal.
