1 face 5 ways

One face. Five techniques. Endless creative possibilities.

What happens when you take one face and explore it in five completely different ways?

In this online class, we're going to do exactly that. Starting with the same portrait, we'll explore how different materials, colors, and techniques can completely transform the way we see and interpret a face.

We'll begin with acrylic painting, using value to build dimension and define facial features. From there, we'll explore negative painting with a dichromatic palette of Payne's Grey and rust, reconstruct our face through collage painting, get bold and playful with pop art-inspired oil pastels, and finish with layers of stencils, patterns, and illustrative details.

Each approach brings something completely different to the same familiar face, and that's where the fun begins.

This class is about experimenting, letting go of expectations, and discovering just how many creative possibilities can come from one simple starting point.

You'll receive downloadable reference images and sketches so you can work right alongside me, using the same face as your starting point.

Five faces, five creative approaches, and plenty of room to make each one your own.

Negative +Dichromatic

There is beauty in what remains unspoken. Emerging from a dichromatic palette of Payne’s Grey and rust, she exists somewhere between what is seen and what is hidden, allowing the spaces between to tell their own story. Not everything needs to be revealed to be understood.
