I sat stunned and teary-eyed watching the House expulsions of @justinjpearson and @brotherjones_ in Tennessee. The chaos of our country’s politics is maddening. That moment lodged itself in me, a vibration so jarring it echoed for days. I couldn’t shake it. And I knew I had to paint.

Art has always helped me process the things I cannot reconcile. This piece was not easy, not joyful, it was necessary. I had to keep stepping away, making sure I wasn’t painting just from anger, but from truth. From grief. From deep, soul-level resonance.

This work is a visual record of the frequencies that found me, of injustice and resilience, of silence that speaks and voices that refuse to be quieted. The figure stands grounded, adorned in symbols that speak to both identity and power, wrapped in a trans pride flag and surrounded by shadows that echo histories and headlines we all carry. Ravens, vultures, and symbols of justice move through this space like messengers. The names of places written in pain ripple across the bottom like a seismic wave.

We are tuning forks, every one of us, absorbing the vibrations of a world in flux and sending back our own frequencies in return. The vibrations that touch us are as diverse and beautiful as we are. This painting holds one of mine.
